I have an xbox 360 fat modded with LT 3.0 and a dashboard 2.0.16202.0. I want to buy GTA V original.
1. If I play the original GTA V, the LT 3.0 will remain or not?
2. There are risks for my modded Xbox, if I play the original GTA V?
3. Can I access Xbox Live without taking risks?
4. Can I play online with original GTA V without risks?
thanks

You can never be 100% safe with modded firmware. It down to users choice in the matter. You never know what Microsoft has up their sleeves. But there has not been a ban wave in a long time and i don't expect they will be with the console coming to the end of its life cycle and with a new console on the horizon. Its a case of trying to keep yourself as safe as possible with stealth patching, decent burns, not playing games before they are released(if thats what you do!!!)As regards to originals it wouldn't matter if its a backup or purchased game microsoft will probably look at the nand first and modded firmware.A scratched disc be it original or a backup can potentially flag a console but not a ban.So its down to you after all is said.

I am confused - is GTAV supposed to flashing dvd drive firmware
back to stock or something ?
The last backup I ran was Diablo 3 and I have the newest dashboard
and have no issues running backups.

Questions 1 and 2: Yes.
Questions 3 and 4: No, not without taking risks. You might get banned, if you play online, no matter if you only play originals online or not. But there has not been a banwave since 2010 or 2011, not too sure, so you are "pretty safe".

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Sorry, I am still confused.
What are the risks to a modded Xbox from playing the original copy of
GTA V ?

I think 2009 and 2011 there was a ban wave. Also like Eisherz said your pretty safe but you can never say never.Revert your console back to stock firmware if your only concern is GTA V.

Actually, even that doesn't help. If you were flagged before you could still get banned, if you did some real stupid things (like playing the leaked version of Halo 4 one month early). I would just go ahead and play the game, I personally would say you are 90% safe not to get banned, if you didn't to anything stupid before.

Yea, I just found that one for PS3, I guess know what I am going to do tomorrow ;) (and yes, just like Halo 4 I have preordered the original game, just can't wait for it to arrive).

I don't know what this has to do with me downloading GTA V for my jailbroken PS3, but I am planning on buying a PS4 somewhen in the first half of next year and maybe (and this is a big maybe) an Xbox One when Halo 5 gets released.

It was a clear enough question if you were planning on buying the original game. Not talking about your jailbroken ps3 and pirated downloads!!

I still don't get it, GTA V is a PS3/Xbox360 game, not a PS4/XboxOne one and due to both consoles not being backwards compatible it won't even run on them. I have already paid for it (as I wrote, I preordered it), but am still downloading it, it's the same I did with Halo 4. Some games you just have to own as originals.

I think the question the original poster wants to ask is the same thing that's worrying me... I have an xbox360 that was modded when the first mods came out (we're talking the first week people discovered the hack) . My worry is that when I put GTA V in the drive will it ask me to apply updates (on the disc, I don't mean going online... it's already been banned from the 1st wave way back when) - and if I say 'yes' to whatever updates are on that disc, or iso, will it then wipe out the mod and turn my modded xbox into a 'normal' retail xbox and I'll have to get it modded all over again?

I say this because I remember there was a game that was released a few years back (Fifa?) that did exactly what I'm describing above. Pop in the disc, bye bye modded xbox.

Any help would be appreciated!
