Hello, and thanks for reading!
I think i might have bricked my Hitachi drive!!!
I was in the middle of flashing my drive last night, saved the orig. firmware, etc., erased the drive - then my pc froze and crashed! After half an hour of praying, the only option was to pull the power from the pc, obviously I now have my Hitachi drive still attached, with erased firmware!
I tried starting again using Slax cd, no luck, windows does not even recognise that there is a drive attached??!!
Am I screwed?!
P.S. It's the Hitachi 59, and I'm using a SATA card with VIA 6421
Any help much appreciated!

Try using your onboard SATA instead. Also at which point was the erase? I cannot recall erasing hitachis in the past, just mode B > dump > flash

LOL what an idiot I am huh??!! I guess that will be my problem then, and how i managed to brick it!! I was using Jungleflasher and pressed erase, then tried to write the new firmware, and everything froze up - duh, oh well, one for the bin then i guess!
Sorry my bad, I was thinking of the Sammy i bricked (then fixed with dosflash 16) the hitachi i did not erase, just tried to write the firmware in Jungleflasher, and it froze up halfway through writing, giving me no option but to reboot

Try reading on your on board sata, if that fails at least you have the OFW, you can spoof it to a BenQ

Thanks for your answers guys, I spoofed a Sammy drive that I managed to get my hands on last night, so got the xbox up and running again, just damn annoyed that I bricked the Hitachi, all coz the damn thing froze up in the middle of writing.
For future referance, what program would you guys reccomend for flashing the Hitachi 59 drives?
I've found Toolbox the best for Hitachi 78, Jungleflasher for the BenQ, and Sammys are easy, but this damn H59 killed me!
P.S. Miketrev: I don't have on board SATA, so I'm stuck with using my SATA card with VIA6421 chipset
