Power brick has red light

for the last few days when I turn my xbox off the power brick light would turn red and I couldn't turn my xbox on. I first turned of the power strip waited for the light to fade away. Then I would flip it back on. And it would work. But recently I did the the same thing the light turned orange. But when I hit the xbox power button it would flash green for like half a second then shut off. I looked at the power brick and the light was red.


I don't have another power brick because they are too expensive. The weird thing is that it wouldn't turn red until I hit the power button. I am afraid to do it again and have my xbox not turn on ever again.


I hope someone with experience could help me so I don't waste my money on another cord.

Also I have an inter cooler and I am in the process of letting the power brick cool down.

Did you try plugging it into the wall outlet itself? Plugging it into a power strip could cause this issue. The manual even says not to plug it into a power strip.

I had similar issues and after I plugged it into the Wall outlet itself the issue went away.

yeah first of all i would try plugging it directly into the wall.

is your console still in warranty? if so phone MS and they will send you another one no problems.
if the warranty has run out, have you tried ebay? the bricks are only around £15. Just be sure it has the right connections, 3 pin /2 pin etc.
