When I originally flashed my drive, I powered using the xbox. I read somewhere later that you shouldn't do that because it raises a flag somewhere in the xbox. Being i haven't been banned or anything, is it safe to assume that's not true? Is there another way to power it without buying a connectivity kit if that is true?

Ive done it on every xbox I have flashed with a ban (about 20 diff xboxs), my mate has been doing it for 4 years with no bans. Truth is no one knows what criteria M$ ban on, but id say its pretty safe.
