problem erasing lite-on firmware, device intro failed problem

hi,

i have a lite-on drive with ixtreme 1.5.
i've tried to flash it to 1.6. i had the original firmware of my drive and spoofed it with 1.6. then i tried to erase the current firmware on my drive but it says:

Drive returned Status 0x7F
....................
Device Intro failed!

i've tried it about a 20 times and of course with the power cycle but it gives still the same error.

does this mean my drive is dead or have i done something wrong?

What type of SATA chipset are you using?

Your drive is fine. You just need to get the proper status and write the firmware.

turned out that my sata cable was not working.
