Hi Everyone;
So I have tried a few different Firmware hacks and they have all given me problems....
the one I am most egar to use is
xtremebootmaker_0.5.3_rc3
I tried it on a machine and it loaded no problem and I wasnt ready to use it so I just closed it until a future time, whenever I tried to use it again it would not allow me to pick a Firmware type, it was Grey-ed out as a non-option....
So today I tried it again on a newer machine and I got the same results, the first time I opened it to test it, it worked just fine, but now when I am all ready to make the disc to work on my 360 its all Grey-ed out again....
Could someone tell me whats causing this?

Jungleflasher's all good and fine as long as your A) not using A VIA SATAchipset at all or B) Using VIA SATA PCI adapter. I have on board VIA SATA chipset and JungleFlasher scared the crap out of me making me think I'd bricked my Lite-On. I was only able to repair it using DOSFLASH 16 running on a floppy bootdisk. After going through this I'd recommend just using Jungleflasher to get the key and make the custom firmware, then using DOSFLASH to erase/write your firmware. Here's a link to what I did.
Quote:You will need L-O-Eras.exe, latest dosflash16, and your hacked firmware file. Well what you do, restart your PC with your liteon connected, but not powered on, boot to DOS. Once you get to DOS restore power to your liteon drive. Go to where your files are.
Type L-O-Eras SATAPORT <-- put in your sata port that your drive is connected too. If you don't know your sata port, you can do dosflash really fast and figure out which port has the liteon drive on it. So after you do L-O-Eras SATAPORT you should return status FF72 I believe. I haven't had to do this way for awhile so if I made a mistake on the status please PM me so I can fix this. After you do this, go type DOSFLASH, then enter the proper # for the port that has the liteon drive on it. Then type W for write. Then enter your hacked firmware file, usually lite_cfw.bin then it will erase and write the firmware to your drive. After it is done, turn the power off on your drive, then turn it back on and press eject and if it does, problem solved!
Now you have flashed your firmware to your Liteon drive, put your system back together and test a backup.
The manual for Jungle shows that you have to un-assemble the DVD Drive???
I'm sorry im new at this I can Soft-mod the hell out of a XBOX but I know nothing about the 360 Im looking for the easiest way to do this for a person who doesn't play online.
I'm pretty new to this too, but I just successfully did mine. I think it depends on what DVD drive you have in your system. Check this to figure out what type you have. If you have a Lite-On you definitely have to open the DVD drive to probe a point on the circuitry. I basically followed this tutorial, except only used jungleflasher to get the Key and make the custom firmware. Used DOSFLASH for everything else.
