Hi, since my 83850C went dead. i bought new VAD6038.
First thing that i noticed after installig it was that eject button wasnt working (just like with broken 83850c). well thats ok i can open it manually to go vendor mode.
ok then i got the dummy(key) from it and tryed to spoof it to 83850C with new key, done.
Next.. i tryed to spoof newly created fw (benq that thinks its 83850C with new key) with BenQ_ixtreme1.6. and write command sended... after that xbox still flashing green light and jungleflasher is not even recognizing my benq drive anymore..
was my spoofing logic right first to make benq look like 83850C with new key and then spoof it with benq_xtreme?
Update: tryed to flash my benq back to original over dos with iprep009 with no luck it wont even recognize my drive anymore.
Writing ended with error. "No atapi drives presents"
now i got 2 drives that are not recognized :P
is it possible it has something to do with my sata ports? i mean i successfully flashed 2 other 360's with same computer + succesfully fflashed that new benq drive too (just died after flashing :() even disconnect my sata HDD's and tested all sata ports without any luck, still strange if problem is with my sata...
Motherboard: Asus p5b, P965 chipsed wich has ICH8 sata ports?
What you need to do is hook it up and run Jungle Flasher. Even though the drive isn't detected any more, make sure you have the right I/O port selected, and click Intro/Device ID. You will then get a pop-up box and click OK. Once you click OK, dots will go across the bottom of the JF log. Disconnect the DVD drives power cable for 1 second and then reconnect. This should allow you to gain access to the MXIC flash chip (status 0x73). Next, you need to go back to the Firmware tool tab and load your 83850C dummy bin into source. Then load iXtreme 1.6 for BenQ into target. Click spoof source to target. Go back to the MTKFlash tab and click write. Once it is complete, click Outro/ ATA Reset and shut off the drive. Test it out in the XBOX 360.
And benq wont eject. (and it didnt eject even before flashing/spoofing, maybe i got a problem with xbox?)
Cant get it to 0x73 .. 0x7F (same thing happened with 83850)

And thats almost how i flashed my benq today, just did that "spoof source to target" manually by clicking manual spoofing, didnt know it will automatically spoof it as 83850C.. result should be same.. even writed it successsfully so what happened? :O
