I have an issue with my father xbox 360, heres the just of it. currently the xbox will eject if I romove the case and the metal cover in witch it reads the version of the drive. Once I place the metal cover on it will not eject as if something is blocking the drive. If you remove the metal cover from it, It'll eject all day long without any problems. My question for the users is what could be the issue that's keeping the drive from ejecting?

your talking about the metal cover of the drive itself right?
if so then maybe the whole case for the drive is warped. as in slightly twisted so that when you take the cover off it relieves this pressure and allows to ejct. put it back on and it forces the case into a twist again. maybe this is it.
Its prolly a samsung drive you have, I have had a few with this issue. Open the drive tray with the metal cover off and take out the black rubber band near the undereath the front front of the drive tray, put the rubber band in boiling hot water with a dash of vinigar for 5 mins dry and replace. This should solve your problem.

i think you can also clean with rubbing alchohol too.
