I hope someone can help me. I'm not exactly a noob, but I am not a tech master at this. I've been backing up my 360 games for a year or so without any problems. I've always kept it simple--I use xbc to rip and burn. All of the sudden every game I try to back up fails to verify. The games rip without seeming to have a problem, but they always have an error when it is time to burn. Is there something about new releases (ghostbuster, ncaa football 10, I could list some others) that is different? Do I need to try other software?

Thanks, I hope someone can help.

Exactly what error is it giving when you burn it? It could potentially be your burner or your media causing the problem, and not the rip.

Try running it through ABGX at level 0 autofix.

First, thanks for the quick response.

Alright, Here's a for instance. I try to backup my NCAA 10 and xbc tells me PFI Sector failed-Validation: Failed PFI mismatch. I ran agbx with 0 and it tells me that the game appears to have random padding, SS & DMI look valid, PFI & Video Partition matches known data, Stealth Check passed, any DVD style corruption was not detected, and all CRCs match. So, it appears the iso has no problems, right?

Yeah, so Abgx seems to think it's all legit. I would trust that and go with it. It's the best verification tool we have for rips at this point.

If I were you I'd google that specific error and see what it might be. I'm posting from my mobile right now, so I can't help you with that right away. When I get to a PC I'll help ya look further into it if need be.

You keep it simple and burn with XBC? Wow, that just made me laugh. XBC is good for ripping but the most sucky program when it comes to burning.
And I guess, you are still using XBC 2.8. I don't want to explain the whole Wave 3 thing again as it has been explained close to infinite times on this forum.
Also I guess you are still runing iXtreme 1.4 or 1.5 (you said you were backing up a year, so I guess 1.4). Again, do a forum search on Wave 3, it will also tell you why these games won't work on your system even if you got them burned.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Why does XBC suck for burning?

Why does XBC suck for burning?

Because it does. It has a built-in stealth check that is just not neccessary because by any means is not as good as abgx and as far as I know does only get updated when a new version of XBC gets released (which isn't too often). Also from my own experience I can say that XBC isn't the most stable program for burning, it was the reason for one of my three coasters I produced so far, it simply froze in the middle of the burning process.

Thanks for all the assistance. I tried to research the issue before hand, but your comments on wav3 gave me a better direction. I've used xbc for a long time and it was simply two clicks to a back up, but now that I'm trying to understand the larger picture I see these other alternatives. Thanks for your patience and sorry to bother with a new thread on an old issue.
