Problems flashing Lite-on Please help

Hi im a noob at flashing firmware to the 360. but i have made my own key extractor. i am very handy with electronics and i have never had a problem with any of my experiments before. my computer is acknowledging my lite-on drive, and my key extractor. but every time i try to dump the key i still get the "warning...Bad serial data" error. i have my tray half open and have closed a little and opened a little and tried over 100 times. a couple times the extractor and the lite-on made a feint beep sound when i clicked get key like it was going to work. but still nothing. and now im not getting any where..i have been at it for 4 days now and still nothing. also i have heard that you can spoof and flash the spoofed firmware directly to the lite-on, but i have also heard people saying you cant. and that you have to dump it on to another drive.. but those were older posts. so am i right to think i can spoof and reflash my liteon via JF and if so, does anyone have any suggestions for getting my key. please i really need this done before i end up trading the damn thing for another model with a BenQ in it

i have followed that tutorial to the T. would the way i power cycle the drive after i open the tray have anything to do with my problem. because i know my extractor is good but i cant get a key off of it.

It should just be a case of eject the tray power down the drive close tray half closed turn on the drive.
