Question on PAL/NTSC burning

Hi, long-time lurker, first-time poster, and I apologize in advance if this has been addressed before. I used the search function up top and did not see an answer to my specific question.

I am planning on backing up my games and had a question regarding the actual burning process, namely if you can convert your NTSC games to PAL and vice-versa. I am aware that the PAL/NTSC encoding is in the motherboard of the 360 but if I were to backup my NTSC games, could I burn them in PAL or vice-versa? All of the threads I have seen address the console itself and changing the console somehow to PAL/NTSC but I am wondering if it's possible to convert the games prior to putting them into the machine.

Thank you again in advance for your answers and ire(if deserved) and I will go back to my lurking.

if your games are RF then theres no problem with playing them on a PAL or NTSC/U console. If they are region locked such as battlefield bad company 2 ntsc/u version then you will need to check if they are compatible with a PAL console

To re-iterate what b1gh3ad said,
If your console if PAL, your backups have to be PAL or Region Free.
If your console if NTSC, your backups have to be NTSC or Region Free.

No other way around it.
