Does anyone know when ixtreme 1.6 will be out for Hitachi or will it even be out, I know likely someones going to say swap it out for a BenQ but that's not the question, there's a lot of Hitachi owners out there waiting on it but it doesn't seem like it's happening, and it's probably because there's a lot of drive revisions (59DJ 78FK 79FL etc.)
If anyone knows if c4eva is working on one could they let me know.
Thanks.

lol, this is a pointless question.
I'm sure it's being worked on, but it's hardly talked about anymore. No idea when/if it will be released.

I know it's pointless but I just wanted to know if it's even going to happen because it looks unlikely.

No idea. No way to know at all. Truthfully, I believe that there will be an iXtreme 1.7 before the Hitachi gets a 1.6 update.
By the way, you could swap it out for a BenQ.
Oh, wait, you said you didn't want to to hear that, so just ignore that last comment about swapping it for a BenQ, because you already know about swapping it for a BenQ, and swapping it for a BenQ would result in having a better, more reliable drive. And swapping it for a BenQ will allow 1.6ness to be achieved.
Me, I'd probably swap it for a BenQ, or wait on iXtreme's 1.7 firmware.

Well if you know this, then why even ask?
It's pointless to do so, unless something has happened which leads you to believe that it might be released.
but that isn't the case here.

I believe until it's announced it's pointless to ask. keep in mind that the DEV's aren't payed for their work so it's kinda left to whenever there is free time. If you really want to move to 1.6 you know what to do. Let's be clear, there are some really cool features with 1.6 - the main one which allows you to rip games with your DVD drive and quik boot. Most people aren't even ripping games and I say most because the majority are just downlading and burning. 1.51 will play all games out so that's more than sufficient.

Make a large donation to the firmware team and I'm sure it will get done! :P
Edit: Plus this is really a touchy subject after the whole FoundMy/Team HyperX/JF conspiracy. I would just leave it alone and not ask questions.

I have an xbox with a Samsung ixtreme 1.6 but 2 spare xboxs with Hitachis. I like my samsung one but I don't want to keep opening the xbox to rip games and also don't want to leave it opened or put a Hitachi in it.
Some of the people that replied I know the BenQ is better, But you could basically say with just one reply:
"We don't know if there'll be a 1.6 for Hitachi we have no way to tell"
Without smart hints which is why I said IF anyone knows could they let me know.
I understand in english now that Hitachi owners will be very unlikely to get to rip games without getting another drive.
At least I have a Samsung though :)
