Question with playing games off HD

So after you copy your game to the HD, you have to boot if up with the disc, ok. Does the disc have to be in the whole time when playing off the HD?

Just wondering...hoping to save wear and tear on my dvd laser...especially if you want to buy non verbatim discs.

yes, the disc has to be in the dvd drive the whole time but it will only check to see that it is in there once and then load off the HDD. It will greatly increase the life of your dvd drive.

so they dvd laser only is used on the initial boot up every time you play, it's then retired once the game is being played off the HD?

so would be ok to get memorex discs then?

Yes, right on both accounts. Though some people will still try to convince you to not use memorex since you'll still have to copy the game to the HD, I've never had a problem with memorex personally.
