Are you still able to purchase downloadable content, such as game mods, demo's, vids, arcade games, ect., if you get banned? If not, are the chances of getting banned any less if you only use xbox live silver (with a modded system of course), and not gold, i.e. never play games online?
Sorry for the late reply. Thanks, that makes sense and answers that question. Still wondering if playing offline while connected to live would be just as risky as playing online though. I guess it bowls down to this: does microsoft detect modded systems through any and all active live accounts, or through active use of that account in 'rooms' used for online multiplayer matches? I'm inclined to think the latter. Because even if a complex sort of spider is used, that would take entirely too long, but much simpler hidden verification like wga used only when going in and out of multiplayer rooms would be far more manageable, and would explain why some people never seem to get banned and some do right away, one uses online, one off... another possibility is that a hidden version of wga is used to verify games when you download updates, which would mean only when updating do you need worry about authenticity. These are just presumptions, I'm curious to what you all know about this. I want to know so I may make as many precautions as possible.
you can still get banned using a silver account because every time you log on your 360 sends info back to MS and that could be one way that they are catching people but nobody knows for sure what there method of detection is.
