Questions about xbox 360 harddrive

Hey. I was just wondering. If i had a 160gb of hard drive and i formatted to be able to use on my xbox360, is there any chance for me to reformat it back so that i can use it on my computer again? (like a newly bought hard drive) thanks..

yeah, definitely.
All it takes is just a repartition and format.

but when you format it to work on your xbox 360, is there some kind of format that will lock your hard drive so you cannot reformat it back to normal? nevertheless, thanks for you reply. 100% helpful..

no. You can always reformat a hard drive. There's not one format that would "lock it" to stay at the format.

be able to use on your 360 how? to play movies/music off of, or to use for game saves. if its for movies/music then do as guesswho stated. but its for game saves, then you can only use a very select few hard drives for this.

yeah, I should have specified on that. If you're reading a guide, then you should know that there are only certian hard drives that can do that.
Be sure to read up on it.

oh.. thanks for telling that.. so you mean that if the harddrive is use to listen music and movie, any hard drive will do? and for game saves onli certain hard drive? but if i want to use for game saves, can i still be able to use it to view movie and music?
btw, sorry to ask do you have the model of the hard drive that i should use for game save?? i am really glad you told me that..

Western Digital 1200BEVS. ATM 120gb is the highest you can use, but there is a 250gb xbox 360 hard drive coming out soon. So when somebody uploads the ss bin (or whatever it is) you will be able to use a 250gb hard drive on the xbox 360.

Sorry, proper name for the hard drive you can use with xbox 360 consoles is WD1200BEVS.
If you format it properly you will be able to use it exactly like a normal xbox 360 hard drive, so you can store game saves, music and video's. You should be able to reformat it again to use it on a pc.

thanks alot.. help must appreciated.. do you have any useful links of guiding me to format my xbox 360 hhd and also where can i find the software to help me format the hdd.. i failed to find any links on google..
