Quick question for bricked Hitachi :(

Ok well I was looking to update my 1.4 hitachi to the 1.5. Blah blah blah did everything right and it froze when trying to flash it in order to restore it. Now, I kept the key that it got me(and through some research have found it to be the correct key). I also have the original.bin for the Hitachi 79. I'm pretty sure I have to get a new drive, all other options seem extremely complicated. Now, if I have the key, and I buy say a BenQ or a Samsung, do I use that key to make it work with the Xbox 360? or what?
