RAM Upload failed (Hitachi Flash)

I am trying to flash my Hitach dvd drive and when i went to read the current firmware wiht the Ram upload i got "failed to execute". i figured ok it was a stock drive so i did a classic dump and that worked and then i went to flash the drive and ram upload is the only choice available and i tried and it failed again. my computer is quite old and only had 512 mb of RAM. any ideas why this might be happening or something i can do to fix it?

Use onboard SATA instead of the Via, I used to have this problem with my Via 6421a, also made sure you confirm mode B with double press of the eject button once sent.

Thanks. i'm pretty sure i don't have onboard SATA which could be bad and this driver worked before when i flashed a Toshiba drive. like i said every things going fine except the RAM upload so i'm not sure if that would be the problem but then again i've only used the program once before this.

i went back to the older version i had used before (1.64) and tried and it worked incase anyone was wondering

Well, as long as it worked.

I was going to ask to post the entire JF log. In the beginning of the log it should say that portio32.sys was installed. If it wasn't that could give you problems.
