Hoping to find some answers to my problem. For years I had a Benq drive because they were easy to mod, requiring nothing but stuff I already had. The Lite On drives seemed to be very involved to mod, at least to me who isn't very fluent in that stuff. Perhaps due to poor hardware design I went through about 4 Xbox's in two years because they kept getting a red ring. Finally I bought one with a Lite On drive and the person selling was willing to mod it with the latest firmware, ixtreme LT. Now I'm suffering from the same 2.5 AP issue that a lot of people are. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood 2 didn't work. Then just yesterday I plopped in Homefront. It came with an update, which I had to apply. After updated I discovered CODMW2 and CODBO aren't working. I read on the forums that this is known. Great. So I'd really like to upgrade my firmware to LT+ 1.1 but I'm not sure how to do it. Not sure if the process is any different since my console has already been modded than it would be for a first time mod. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

if you do not have the key, your best bet of success is to get some kind of new connectivity kit, there are a few to chose from, all of which is going to run you around a 100 dollars, so if you are not going to flash other drives, it may be cheaper and easier on you to find someone in your area that flashes and pay them to do it, if you take that route tell them you want the dummy bin, that way the next time it will be possible for a cheaper flash.

Hmm. Well, it would seem my fears of trying to flash a Lite On drive myself weren't unfounded. I really don't plan on doing anything more than updating this one drive, as needed, so not sure getting that kit would be worth it to me. Now I have to find someone who does this, which is also new to me. Crap.

go onto www.360mods.net and look at the forums.at the bottom of the forums there are diffent modders advertising to flash peoples drives for a small fee. :) just look for one in your area and they will do it for you.

I did crack my console to see what model drive I have: HW Ver: A0A2 FW Ver: 93450C Mfr date: 3/2010. The more I'm finding out the more I'm guessing this is not going to be an easy thing to do, especially with this model. I've tried to find someone interested in doing it and amazingly I can't find anyone.
I tried to open that link but I'm getting a IE error.

Can anyone suggest a good tutorial, that lists anything and everything needed to do the flashing yourself?

All Lite ons are very easy to do now. Just make a PMT using a spare dvd cable, a switch and something to use as a probe (needle ect) and you are good to go. No more cutting/repairing traces.
If you don't want to make one (although it's easy and cheap), Xecutor makes one you can buy from them along with other things.
Here's the one I made in about 20 minutes. Works great for all lite ons.
I added a led to show when the drive is powered. The switch i used was the eject button from a spare junk 360 board.
Oh and forgive the green finger nail lol. I work with glue and resin. Hard to wash off haha.

Those are great pics and great information. I appreciate the assumption that I'm able to do all of that. LOL. Are there tutorials out there that show how to use these devices and the process needed? This is all uncharted territory to me.

I agree with Weaponx55...
love the homemade probe and would love details on how to make one. I got extra parts but not $100 to buy a kit.
Also looking for a source for an updated tutorial. I can follow directions but need it step by step....

Update: I was able to find someone to flash my drive for me. To the best of my knowledge, and I have no reason to doubt, my Lite On drive now has LT+ 1.1 on it. I put it back into my console and unfortunately it looks like I'm where I was before. The games with AP 2.5 still won't play. I get a black screen (which stays on for about 8 minutes) and then i get the unreadable disc error. I thought I read somewhere that there is more to do to playing those games than just upgrading to the latest ixtreme. Is that true? Is there something I need to do with the games themselves or should they play now? I'm still able to play other backups and store bought games.
I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.
