I am ignorant about the XBOX and it's product. I have a nephew for whom the equipment was purchased. It is a XBOX 120G with Pure and Batman games. Recently, when turning on the box. a red light occurred on the power button and the box failed to respond. Is this a problem of minor or major repair?

If its under warranty still, just go on thexbox website and register your xbox. If not they will try to charge you some ridiculous fee. Turn it on and hold the sync button and press the dvd eject button, you should have to do this around four times while holding the sync button. It should display a four number code around the ring of light. Post the code when you are done so we know what you are looking at. Don't bother if its under warranty though Microsoft can deal with it.
