reflashing liteon - Rebuild serial info?

Hi im re-flashing my friends liteon 7 series to the latest firmware. He originally had it flashed at a shop and they put the extract on a usb stick. When i put the dummy.bin onto the source in jf it says the dummy.bin is missing some drive specific information and i should rebuild the serial data.

Do i need to do this as his box is banned? will it work without rebuilding the data?
