Hi there, i frequently download my xbox 360 games from megaupload with my premium account, and i get my links from a great free website called xbox360iso.com and follow zarths uploads. He does upload region free games on time and sometimes even before they come out! But he mainly uploads ntsc/u games way way before they come out in the UK and there are raley pal only games. so I wouldnt be missing out on much if i changed my console to ntsc/u with the Infectus 2 chip. what i was wondering was if it was really possible and if i could still go on UK xbox 360 live?

You could probably do it but who knows with modifying the console and going on XBOX Live. When modifying anything, you are usually running a risk of getting caught.

Buying an out of region console second hand should be cheap enough to justify it since you are saving all that money on games. that way you could use both consoles online with the same account (at different times).

thanks guys, you are the voices sense. :) i am now porbaly not going to change the region as it sound complicated and the chip costs £50! when i can buy a ntsc console from ebay.com for about $100 (£70 odd). if anybody knows where i can get a cheaper one or a cheap faulty one as i flash/repair consoles , and mod controllers, that would be very helpful. thanks again.
