just make a dump of the original firmware (OFW) on the unmodded box. then make a dump of the fw on the modded box; use the dump of the modded xbox as source, use the unmodded benq fw (OFW) as target; spoof source (the modded fw that contains the key of the modded box) to target (the OFW that has the key of the OFW box NOT being the box that you try the bring back to the original state) ==>flash and then your done
done it a million times this way.
play dvd means wrong key (or your laser is getting bad; hence it isn't quite able to read it as a GAME disc instead of a MOVIE disc)

Sorry, not sure if OP was clear enough.
Friend bought new Benq 64930c to replace his faulty Benq 64930c(tray wont open).
I got his OFW from the faulty drive and spoofed it to new Benq drive but, this did not work as games came up play DVD

The tray won't open fix is easy...you have to clean the black rubber band with mild hand soap and warm water. You can manually open the drive using the cog on the bottom left (right under the bezel of the tray). Use tweezers to extract it...wash it...clean pullys with alcohol and bingo!
The second easy option would be to just swap the motherboards. Remove cable...re-attach after swap...bingo!
The way you're approaching is much more difficult...but since you're there already, I would make sure you dump the original firmware a few times and compare the keys. Sounds like you may have used the original as the target source as well.
"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."

It sounds to me like your not spoofing the key correctly, have you checked the key from souce matches the target?

as all have mentioned, it seems like you are not spoofing the key correctly. OR; the key is wrong to start with; OR the replacement drive isn't working that fine (laser about to fail) (i am assuming you are putting in an original game...).
spoofing a working key from a bad/flashed drive into a new drive (either original or ixtreme fw) works. i've done it many times, all has done it many times.

Yes, key did match but, I will try it again.. been searching too, and more than not it states that I need to swap PCB board. is this still the case as the info came from older posts and videos

swapping the board is easy...don't be intimidated by it.

Thanks for the quick reply...
But, is it necessary to swap the board, or can flashing the drive do the job?

Of course you can flash the drive, but you've taken how long now to see if you can flash the drive...thread is about 5 days old. This whole job should have taken 5 minutes to do from the get go....it's not that complicated. Plus you're taking the risk of screwing your drives with a bad flash. Swapping the PCB is safer in my honest opinion...just make sure your ribbons are facing the way they're pre-bent when you re-install.
