ok so im looking at purchasing a replacement drive i have a lite-on 74850c and im looking at getting the same drive and i have read that i will still need to spoof the drive is that true?my second question is the guy said the drive will need to be flashed so since it has no original firmware im assuming could i just flash it with lt+? just wanted to clear a few things up any help is appreciated thank you.

that is correct, as long as you have the original key that was on your previous drive you will be fine.

Or, just buy the drive, and remove the control board from your original drive, and replace it with the one in your new drive.

No flash needed! (and no key needed)

Spoof is only if you are replacing a drive that is not the same as the original.

By the way, you can use ANY lite-On to replace yours. 7xxxx 8xxxx or 9xxxx series. They are all identical aside from the firmware. Swap the boards and you're good to go.
