Replacement DVD drive?

I recently bought a replacement DVD drive for the XBOX original was a Philips-Liteon and replacement is a Philips-Benq even though I ordered the Liteon problem is the Benq will only play DVDs and wont play the games any one know why this is ?

Did you spoof the drive with the lite-on key? As much info you can give the better.

I'm not sure if you can spoof drives with new dash. I think it can detect them, and if thats not the case then you flashed wrong key. Hopefully you have a backup of your dummy.bin or you might have turned your xbox into a permanent dvd player.

No havent flashed it or anything wouldnt know how just swapped one drive for the other.

yes u can i have spoofed hitachi to lite ons etc

find some one locally that does flashing,he or she will be able to get ur key and spoof it on the other drive

How do you go about flashing a drive?,is it easy enough to do or do you have to be a real techy.

If you have never done it before then I would suggest taking it somewhere and having it done or do some major reading and try it yourself. I have done close to a hundred drives and I bricked the first 2 Hitachi I did because Jungle Flasher froze on me. Make it someone elses burden and pay to have it done.

Will bring it somewhere and have it done dont want to risk bricking it thanks.
