Not sure how to ask this. I'll be as clear as I can:

If you fried your original Lite-on drive, would replacing it with a new Lite-on drive be considered a spoof and hence probably be detectable on live?

Or to put it another way,

if you fry your original drive, do you have to buy and mod a whole new xbox360 to not be detectable as possible on live with backups?

As long as you replace with same model drive you'll be fine.

Right, but you still need the keys from the ORIG drive to spoof to the new drive and flash.

Correct. Spoofing a different model drive is where the risk is.
