I have a Samsung TS-H943 dvd drive on my jtag'd xbox 360 that does not work anymore, I think the laser has died, and I have tried pot tweaking the laser and that did not work. I have come to the conclusion that I need a new dvd drive, I do have another xbox 360 dvd drive that is a phillips liteon DG-16D2S and I wanted to know if I can use this drive on the jtag'd xbox. What processes would I have to go through to get it to work if it is possible? Before you ask why I care about a dvd drive on a jtag, its because where I live my internet is very very slow and I prefer to get dvd discs and copy them onto my external hard drive, rather than downloading them. Assume you did a forum search & web ,i couldn't find anything on realmodscene & i certainly wouldn't want my jtag to be without a dvd drive regardless if i've got an 0800 drive,that said you'd need to spoof the liteon as a samsung ; or for now use that liteon with the pc instead to rip the games as an iso direct to your external then use either of the free software to convert the iso to either as an example: folder type 45678945 (or nxe2god which is the longer sequence in content folder),my preferred method is the first as it allows me to plonk that in to a folder of the actual name of the game then i simply copy the numbered folder to 360 hdd to have it show up in fsd & nxe,obviuosly i have dedicated iso hdd's & separate extracted game hdd's,if a game won't extract with xbox360 iso i then use iso2god.

I think at the moment I might just use my brothers xbox 360 to install the games I want to my hdd, then use nxe2god and then god2iso and then finally convert the iso to .xex format haha, or maybe just leave them in god format. Just because I dont have the tools at the moment to connect the dvd drive to my pc. Thanks for your help.
