I've got a LiteOn 74850C which I bricked in my hasty attempt to upgrade from iX1.5 to iX1.61. I was following the tutorial nicely until I got to the part that said "Click Erase LiteOn", I clicked the Erase button in the "Flashing" groupbox instead! (yikes!)
Anyhoo, now it won't eject. I found this post http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49096 that is supposed to work, but I have no clue how iPrep works, and I don't have soldering iron, or an extractor, all I have is the VIA SATA card that works with JungleFlash.
Does anyone know how I can save my drive without buying more stuff?
P.S. I managed to save the key from the drive before I bricked it.
easy way load your dummy bin and load firmware, spoof etc, then go back to lite on erase and follow steps again should pop up in vendor mode and click write
In case someone stumbles upon this post with the same problem in the future, here is what I did:
1. I downloaded dosflash (32-bit)
2. Connected my xbox drive (powered by the console) to the via sata card.
3. Started dosflash from Windows.
4. Selected "LiteOn Erase", clicked "LiteOn Erase" button to erase the flash.
5. Selected "Write", clicked "Write" button and selected the firmware that I had created using JungleFlasher for the drive.
6. Closed the program after it finished writing the firmware, unplugged the drive, and everything worked like a charm.
To create the firmware bin file for the drive, I used the dummy.bin that I had extracted before I bricked it :), and the ix16 no stealth bin file, in the first tab of JF. Clicked, spoof to source, and then "save to file" to get my drive's firmware.
