hi guys, iv just got myself a maximus lizard 360 and am trying to mod my xbox. i have a phat benq vad6038.
now being in a rush to play some games, i failed to read that LT+1.92 is only for slim models, and flashed my drive with it. it didnt work (obviously) and now the drive wont even read original games. have i ruined the drive?
after realising my mistake, i reflashed it to the original, then flashed again to 1.9, but it still wont do anything.
any advice would be greatly appreciated
flash back to stock and then see if it plays. if not then drive is dead, if it plays then try to flash back to 1.9, then see if it plays. remember to take things one step at a time. when you get in a rush you WILL mess something up

i have the original and will try when i get back from work, but just in case, are there any 'common' errors newbies make? i consider myself fairly technically competent, but im a self taught tech geek, so sometimes i miss things that other ppl consider fairly basic as its all just stuff i pick up when it interests me.
if there is any info that would help im more than happy to provide, the drive was definatley working pre flashing as it was an rrod box that i fixed and tested.
The most common error is probably losing the key, or flashing the drive with firmware that doesn't contain the correct key. That's what causes the console not to play any disc based games, but it'll still play DVDs and CDs.
As long as you have your drive key and the key is correct, you'll be able to recover from this.

okey dokey, its all good, im just gonna run through what happened in case someone else is having the same issue (i hate it when the OP just says 'it worked, thanks' at the end of a post.
so it seems that because i had updated to the latest dash, but my OFW was really old, when i re-loaded it the xbox wouldnt play nice, so plugged it into live to recieve the fw update for the drive, made a new OFW .bin file from that, the made the lt+1.9 CFW from that file. now it works as it should and im a happy guy.
thanks for the advice guys
