Hi,

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere. Been looking for a while and getting very confused.

Just flashed my 360 drive. its a lite-on 7series. My question now is how woudl i rip my games to backup? I've read on places that this can be done doing a swap wxripper. And i've also read that i need a dedicated drive to do so?

I have a dl burner LG drive. Can i use this to rip using wxripper? Or do i need to get a dedicated drive? If so, what drive do i need to get and what do i need to do?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you

Addition:

Im confused again. Ive been readign conflicting information. Per:

http://www.360mods.net/tutorial/Textbook.pdf

It says that to use the wxripper technique, that a normal drive will work. But iv read a flashed drive is needed as well at places. very confused :(.

If you want to be more on the safe side considering Xbox Live you need a spare Xbox 360 drive with 0800 firmware on it and an Xecuter set for power supply, if you don't care about XBL you need a Samsung SH-D 162 (IDE) or SH-D 163 (SATA) drive. Also you need Xbox Backup Creator.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Nup you use it for burning the game, the samsung drives he mentions require to be flashed with the kreon software so they are able to read the 360 discs, the discs you use to burn are verbatim from singapore & burn no faster 2.4x for 2.4x media or 4x for 8x media, any faster you'll end up with corrupted burns, you will also have to set xbox backup creator to read slow as well otherwise read errors occur tho more so if discs have scratches

Option #1:
Get an Xbox 360 BenQ or Lite-On drive and a connectivity kit to rip your games. These will rip the game, with SSv2 intact.

Option #2:
Get a Kreon PC drive (Samsung SH-D162 IDE or SH-D163 SATA). These will rip the game, but will only rip the SSv1 from the game. You can then patch the game with SSv2 by using abgx360. It only takes a minute to do so.

Option #3:
Use a disassembled PC DVD drive to rip games using the wxripper method. I don't know much about this method, other than it is the least recommended of the three and I would never recommend it.

Your LG DL burner will burn the games (after you check them with abgx360).

Which connectivity kit do you recommend?

Both the CK3 and Maximus are good connectivity kits.

You could just download the iso's like everyone else. You can use a Kreon as long as you patch the rip properly with abgx and ssv2
