I have 2 brand new Xbox's (dvd drive lite-on 93450c dated Jan 2010). Both of them worked fine before i modded them, but the moment i put the dvd drive back in the system i got the rrod. i know the rrod is caused by overheating, but could it be related to my flashing them or just coincidence?

the traces are fine, I fixed them the same way before and it worked fine. My rrod code is 0021 on both of them, I know that is probably that means the firmware but when I tried to fix it it didn't change anything. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

Is there any way to specifically check to see if it is the traces?

Use a multimeter to test continuity.

It's definitely the drive. I tried what you said and it booted right up. I used a circuit Writer pen to fix the traces. Before I flashed them, I fixed the traces with the pen after I couldn't get it and they worked fine. But since I flashed them, they haven't worked. I followed the instructions to the letter. Other than finding someone else to do it are there any suggestions?

Is there another way to fix my drive besides that, I really don't like soldering b/c I'm very good at it. Also, how do I cut the traces without cutting too far into the board where I have to fix it?
