Rumor: Xbox 360 Slim and Kinect (Natal) outed by Microsoft ad?
>> From joystiq.com:
An alleged Italian Microsoft ad, originally found on Console Tribe, seems to have revealed a slim Xbox 360 alongside a renamed Project Natal, touting a 250GB HDD, built-in WiFi (it's the future!), and compatibility with "Kinect" -- presumably the new name for Natal. The advertisement leads back to the Italian Microsoft site and the source of the page tells us that Atlas Solutions -- a Microsoft-owned ad company -- pushed the image automatically to the site
Here's a video of the original ad (yes it's in Italian as it ran on an Italian gaming site):

Kinect? Sounds very possible since it seems Microsoft filed a patent/trademark application for that name back in April 2010 to be used for a "computer software, computer hardware or computer peripheral".

Not sure I like the angular appearance to it. I wonder how long it will be before they RROD, and if I'll see any coming through my door anytime soon.
"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."

According to an internal Target memo, the new Xbox 360 will be available for purchase this Friday (June 18) at the earliest and this Sunday (June 20) at the latest. The new Xbox 360 is smaller, quieter and boats a 250GB hard drive as well as onboard WiFi.

Should have just released it like this in the beginning. Stupid MS. Way to be cheap and make ppl pay $100 for a wifi adaptor for the past 4 years. Same with the 250 gig HDD that cost as much as the console itself. Now its all built in for $300. I feel bad for ppl who spent all that money optimizing their 360 lol. Its like a slap in the face. I guess good things come to those who wait (4 years).
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

WTF, "Kinect-Ready: Custom Kinect port on the back of the console that directly hooks up to the Kinect sensor for controller-free fun."
Does this mean Natal (or kinect) will not work on the normal xbox?

No it just means that you need a to plug the kinect unit in to a power outlet because the old 360 model doesnt have the ability to to supply power to it, kinect ready is a bit of a joke cause all consoles are kinect ready.

If I recall, old 360s have to use a Y adapter to power the Kinect, thats the only difference.
And no, it has no memory card slot nor can you use the current hard drives. That last one is a pain if you ask me.
