Safe to update to play Bulletstorm?

Hi i am currently on the old dash with a Liteon drive running Ixtreme LT , havent even done the Kinect update.My question is my copy of Bulletstorm is asking for an update and i would like to know that if i carry out this update will the game even work but i am also concerned about all my old games not working afterwards.
Any help or suggestions of safely updating without causing a problem would be appreciated.

upgrade drive FW to LT+1.1 and upgrade dashboard to 12625 and do the safety update. It should have no problems with it

If you have unpatched versions of these games listed below repatch the ISO with the latest abgx and reburn as the kinect dashboard will issue AP2.5 checks on the games listed below

Halo Reach
Modern Warfare 2
Black Ops
Need for Speed Shift
Assassins Creed Brotherhood
Fable III
