samsung 1.6 supposed to play xbox 1 backups?

ive read that a stock samsung drive would play xbox 1 backups on dvd5 disk...i traded off for a 360 that has a samsung and i popped in a backup of a xbox 1 game and it gave the same error as my lite-on not being able to play etc.......so...did i misread something somewhere? is it possible for these drives to read dvd5 xbox 1 back ups? or was i just misinformed thank you. it has ixtreme 1.6 btw

only the old xtreme firmware can read dvd5s. other than that, they have to be put on dual layers.

thanks for the reply...i didn't start flashing till ix 1.6 so i have zero experience with the older versions appreciate the information

You will need extreme version 5.3 to play backups of a DVD5, this firmware will prolly get you banned though. You will also need a proper rip of the game, not the modified ISO's that tent to be going around.
