I was flashing ixtreme a few days ago and JF crashed on me, first time ever, had no issues, using Intelchipset, however this crashed mid write and now I have a "bricked" drive. I've been trawling google for a solution but everything I've tried doesn't work.
Basically, when I try a bad flash recovery I get nowhere, the drive won't show in JF, the usual tricks don't work, 10 second, 15/20 seconds etc. Using Iprep, again can't get past vendor intro, will flicker between 00 & 80.
I have tried virtually all the possible fixes to get this erased or at least flashed with the firmware I have, I'm getting desperate now, I'm sure I'm just missing one thing!
Do I HAVE to have the VIA card for this to work or am I ok with onboard Intel? As I said, I've had no problems with this chipset at all, flashed 80+
Please help, I'm losing hair hourly until I sort this!
I had the same thing happen. In the middle of a flash and out of nowhere my computer just froze. So let me guess...your drive will hang the computer everytime you connect it and it won't work in dos either. I have the solution for you. I found this tutorial over at 360mods.net and it worked like a charm! Check out this page :http://www.360mods.net/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=2793.
Just a bit of advice though It is super simple to get the drive back and working but to save you some headaches I have a tip or two. First if you follow the tutorial (I used xtreme boot maker 3.6)and when you go to create a bootable usb stick it gives an error first try to retry and if that don't work then just continue (skip it). Second tip is the first time I tried an A-data usb stick and it wouldn't work so then I tried a Kingston Data Traveler 2GB and it worked perfectly. Third tip is when you load up computer make sure your drive is off and right after your bios detects hardware (your hdds or dvd drives)turn on the samsung drive and wait for the command prompt and then do what the tutorial says. Oh, one other thing, in the tutorial it says to make the two folders and name the original firmware orig.bin just make sure when you do it you rename it orig don't put the .bin on it as it wont work. You also don't have to flash the original firmware to the drive as long as you have your CFW.bin so instead of using the name ORIG.BIN use the name CFW.BIN. Hope this helps.
