Samsung MS28 update issue

So I have a Sammy MS28 Drive that I flashed with iXtreme LT 1.0 using Jungle Flasher 0.1.77 I used Jungle Flasher Tut v.1.3.8. Everything has been great but I want to update to the latest firm and from everything I have read I have to flash my drive back to stock.
I got the latest version of JF 1.87 and the most recent Tut 1.4.4 Once I loaded the drive up in JF it reports back as an MS25 instead of 28. Never the less the instructions are the same. I click the intro button expecting the drive to go into vendor mode and I get a message saying it didnt work to hit yes and cycle power my drive in 1 sec. after 4 or 5 lines a searching I get a failed to introduce vendor mode message. So I tried the drive half open trick and no luck. I even made sure my Xbox said the drive was closed while it was actually half open. Tried this before and after I launch JF and nothing. I even tried the Sammy Unlock button and get a stage 1 failed message. On someones suggestion I followed the same original JF Tut 1.3.8 and used same Jungle flasher v0.1.77 I still even had the original FW and original CFW I used back then and still no success. Anyone have any insight as to what im doing wrong?
BTW I am using my XBOX as a power source.

I'm assuming you're using the same PC to update as you did to flash it in the 1st place so the chip set is compatible. The power cycle for the drive to get into vendor mode is a norm along with tray half open. I always leave trays half open before JF launch but you will need to make sure its open far enough to get into vendor mode. Besides that I don't know what you're over looking....it should work.

Ok thanks for the response I'll try again today. Maybe thats been the issue all along. Is there a way for me to tell that I have it open enough to get into vendor mode?
