Hey, I have previously flashed two Samsung TS-H943s (One with dosflash (16) and the other more recent one with JungleFlasher 0.1.66 Beta)
On this one, I decided that I could use JungleFlasher since it took me less time to get the same results in comparison to the two previous ones.
But, to make a long story short, I backed up the firmware, spoofed iXtreme 1.6 with the usage of my original firmware backup, and flashed it with the spoofed iXtreme 1.6.
So far, everything was fine and seemingly normal. I go and try a legally purchased game, "Play DVD". I go and try a backup, "Open Tray".
After giving the flash another go, respoofing iXtreme 1.6 with the original firmware again, I ran into the same problem.
So, I decided to flash it with the original firmware in which I backed up to see that legal games also show "Play DVD".
Here's my first JungleFlasher session log, the one in which I backed up the original firmware and flashed it with the spoofed iXtreme 1.6 firmware:

Here's my second JungleFlasher session log in which I respoof iXtreme 1.6 with the original backed up firmware again and flash it with the spoofed iXtreme 1.6 again:

i done it a few times
+1 Same here. ALSO check your cables to the board. I flashed a drive 2 days ago and couldnt get it to work with any game! Back tracking I found that the white (power) wires were not in ALL THE WAY. Go back and take a double look and make sure every thing is attached all the way.
Hello again, and thank you for the responses. I'm back with a few updates on this situation.
I have concluded that the problem has nothing to do with the firmware or wiring of the drive itself, but instead has to do with the drive's laser mechanism. In fact, the previous owner claimed that they once had this very problem and sent it to an amateur technician to get it repaired.
After flashing the firmware once more to iXtreme 1.61, I used the method shown here to recalibrate the DVD pot. I decreased the resistance by about 1k ohms (from about 4.035k to about 3.058k) to find some rather interesting results.
I found that, for both original copies and backups, games seem to work only some of the time.
I also found that different games had different rates of working, so I jotted some of the information down as I was testing the games.
The following chart shows the different results for repeatedly inserting games disks on the dashboard:
Key: O - Fully Operational - Game's title and image are visible from the dashboard, game is able to launch and load well. X - Play DVD / Open Tray - For original copies: Game is recognized as a DVD and plays a video ("To play this disk, put it in a Xbox 360 console"), For backups: after about a minute the disk panel displays "Open Tray" as if no disk is in the tray. U - Disk Unreadable - Dashboard displays "Play Game" but not the title and logo of the game, when launching the game an error message saying the disk is unreadable appears. M - Mixed Media Disk - The title and logo of the game is not displayed and instead "Mixed Media Disk" is, there is no option other than ejecting the disk.
Guitar Hero: World Tour (Original Copy):
13/60 ~ 22% Success Rate.
As you can see, different games have unique results.
I think I might end up purchasing a new drive and switching the PCB over, but if anyone has any ideas to help further troubleshoot this problem, any and all are greatly appreciated as things can only improve from here.
only trouble i had with my samsung .was needed cleaning
have you cleaned out the drive moter it will look gold or sliver its the screw looking thing clean it with cd lens cleaner soultion .
alson clean the drive rails with it and use cotton buds . or as i been ponited out in usa qeue tip dip that in cd lens solution and do the laser once clockwise that helped save a sammy from 2006 to 2009 and still going as a 0800 drive
