I just bought a 360 today, it came with the Lite-on 83850C drive. I'm reinstalling from 64bit Windows 7 to a 32-bit OS so I can complete the flashing as the tutorial says. I'm just wondering if my motherboard even works for connecting to the 360. I have a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 motherboard. This whole process is making me a little uneasy =p If someone could tell me if that'll work or if I need to buy something else to make it work, it'd make me feel a lot better.

I've found Lite-Ons to be flashable even from supposedly "non-compatible" chipsets. To be the honest, the only drive that has ever given my motherboard, with its "non-compatible" Intel chipset, any trouble is BenQ. Even that has been very limited, as other BenQ drives have worked fine with that same motherboard.

It won't hurt you to try. The worst that will happen is that you won't be able to get the drive into vendor mode.
