I should know better, but I have a chance to get a system that's been offline since day 1 so it's not banned... Also, I origially modded this system and the dude never updated. It won't even play wave 3 games. I haven't had a chance to look at the dashboard but I think it should be able to be JTagged. I know the manu. date is early '09 though. My question is, since it can't play wave3 games, it shouldn't have been able to update should it?

Corret as the the update is on the new wave partions. The only way it can of been updated is if its been connected to Live

It'd update with an original disc. Or using someone else's mem card or hdd which had the update.

It may have been updated via a USB stick cause the guy wanted pretty avatars but hopefully not.

Yes, we know that. We're not telling him to update. He's asking if it could have been updated and we're giving him ways it could have been other than running newer backups.

Well it's my cousins. He never plays it. Never been updated from the day he bought it. He's too cheap to buy or rent games so it's never been updated from an original disk. Thanks for the answers guys. I'll get it and JTag it.
