Me and a buddy both have modded consoles ( me a hitachi 1.51 him ? with 1.6 ) and we know the activate.iso boot disc and how that works, but we are wondering if the ban wave is over now and if it should be safe to go on? Was it just a time they banned for awhile and now they are done or is it constant and will we get banned shortly after? Let me know, Thanks.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm on 1.6.1 i modded my console a week before the ban wave started but i've never gone online with my console with a modded game only with legit games. But probably a week into the ban wave i decided i would jus disconnect my xbox and stay offline I've been waiting for LT but i'm also concerned that i might have been flagged and M$ is just waiting for me to go online to ban me.

No one knows if the "wave" is over, if your console is flagged then you're probably going to get banned the next time you go online. You'll never know if your console has been flagged, so I would stay offline to stay safe or you could take the risk and go on live. Its up to you.

Do yourself a favor and do not connect to live. You will most probably get banned immediately, because most modded consoles we're flagged during the ban wave. It doesn't even matter what you did online with your console (played copies or originals).
You can try to find out if you are banned by either requesting a repair on the xbox us website or call m$ and tell them a story. You could say something like you want to buy a used console but want to know if its banned or (if you registered it) tell them something is wrong with the hdd connection or whatever. If you are banned they will say you do not have any warranty. If the box is old (and doesn't have warranty) I do not know how to find out if you are banned.
The problem is when you connect to live to find out you will immediately find your hdd locked and you cannot install games anymore. This will turn your xbox into a turbine!

I flashed my box in early '08 and played online until around june of this year. Canceled live for a while and then reactivated about 2 weeks before the wave, and i'm still not banned. Althouh everytime I log in I expect the hammer to fall... Also flashed 2 bud's boxes and they're stil good to go. I don't think there- a method to the madness because a guy I work with had almost the same scenario as me and he got hit a few weeks ago.

Honestly i believe the ban is just really random. Because you would think by if there was a method it would have been figured.

Well i have been playing on my modded 1.51 hitachi 360 online but only on legit games right now. But my buddy hasnt been online with his. Think im going to try playing a game online now. Ill post if i get banned within a week or so. Wish me luck.

The best thing to do is just sit tight and not get online. I have a non-modded box that I'm playing MW2 on. Even still, if I didn't, I would still wait. What LT comes out I'll flash my modded box with it and get online and take my chances at that point.

ive been online since the ban and havent been banned yet. if u play wave 4 games, you will get banned. i havent so no probems yet.

Not Bad which FW are u using? and did u play burned games over live before the wave?

Well im using a Hitachi with 1.51 and i had played backup games online before the ban wave. And now im playing games online again. I stopped for awhile around when the banwave started and only played legit games online ( just MW2 ) Till about 2 weeks ago. Now im happily playing games online again. Along with my buddy who also hasnt gotten banned. I actually have 2 people i know playing online who seem to be safe now. 1 friend who has used the same 360 the whole time and another who did get banned but we swapped him that banned 360 and hes using one thats not banned now and he seems ok.
