Hi,

I have been offline since the last banwave started, was online and alive and kicking the first few days of the ban wave but took it offline when the wave turnout to be rather different then last years banwave.

I am now really wanting to get back online on XBL to get some DLC (beatles rock band stuff). I though cant decide whether I would take the chance of getting banned and then lose the ability to install games to the HDD.

I have a console flashed with fw 1.51 and I have only played originals on XBL and backups offline although the machine was signed to XBL. No leaked stuff, no playing before release date and no patching/changing waves or stuff. I have always tried to be careful and fully checked out games in ABGX.

I could of course just take the chance, sign on and if I get away with it I get grab the DLC and get back offline. Or I could be banned, lose the HDD install availability and then just patch games that dont work on fw 1.51 and play offline for the rest of my life on this console.

So the question is, and I know there is no definite answer here. Should I sign online to XBL ?

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. What i've constantly hear and been told is use at your own risk. If you go online and ur not immediately banned you might end up being flagged meaning the next time you go online after you might be banned. You were right when you said this ban is different from others. You take a risk of going online with any firmware.
