Ok, here goes. I want to mod my 360 to play backups. I've never opened my 360 so it has yet to be modded.

1) I have an internal LG DVD burner (HL DT ST DVD RAM GH22NP20) installed in my PC. Can I use it to burn 360 ISOs?

2) I have a left over pack of Memorex DVD+R DL DVD9s.. Can I successfully burn games to those?

3) I have no intentions of installing a new dash (it looks hard & aggravating) but I am planning to get a certain (not sure if I can mention the name) mod chip. Will my backups play in the original 360's drive or am I supposed to somehow connect an external drive to the 360?

4) @.@ If I wanted to play games off my HDD... Would I need a new dash and also can I use the official 360 HDD or am I supposed to use an external HDD?

There are so many things wrong with this post i dont even know where to start.

ok first off you can use any dvd+r dl to make back ups of 360 games as far as i know its just verbatim is the best media for backed up 360 games.

Theres no way to play games off your hdd unless you mean first burning the iso to disc and installing the game on the hdd to be played off of (you will need the disk in to do so) there is no iso loader for 360 as there was for ps2 if that is what you are asking.

i have no idea what you are talking about as far as installing a new dash this has nothing to do with playing backed up games what so ever.

I do believe there is a mod chip out there that lets you play backed up games but theres no point its much harder to install and more expensive then just flashing your dvd drive to play back ups.

Theres so many thousands of posts about flashing your dvd drive to play back ups use the search feature and good luck.

^^^ he's right, just do what people tell you to do. find someone through craigslist to flash you box. and ask them questions when you call them about how/where to get games. and what to do with them once you backup a game.

Know what.. I'm not satisfied, lol. I still have no idea how to mod my 360 w/o a mod chip. Yes, there's a ton of topics about flashing BUT they are all different and they do not explain what to do before that. It's just not helping. Why is there not a step by step tutorial about modding a 360 starting from scratch? That's what I've been looking for but for some reason, cannot find.

are you fn kidding me download jungleflasher theres like a 50 page tutorial in there alone. step by step on how to do everything stop being lazy

That's because the flashing is all there really is to it. Other than taking the 360 apart to get the drive out, follow a flashing tutorial, and that's it.

I always liked the PDF guide Hacking the 360 for Dummies. It's lengthy, but if you read through it in its entirety, you should be good to go.
