Hey all,

I tried to sum up the core of my problem in the title. Here's the story.

I live in Burma, but bought a modded 360 in Bangkok along with a bunch of games. This was back in October, and the first batch worked fine. Nowe I just went back there, purchased another bundle of discs, and only 4 out of 9 of them play. The rest say "play dvd"

Is there any way I can salvage these discs? Any way for me to rip them back on computer and re-burn? Or does my machine need some kind of update? Anybody have any idea what's wrong?

Thanks all, I appreciate any help I can get.

Either the backups do not work or you have iXtreme 1.6 and need the activation disc to play newer games (like Assassin's Creed II) or wait for the new drive firmware.

You bought it in October, so it more than likely has iXtreme 1.6 on it. All the discs you originally bought work, so if you bought the 9 new discs from the same place, I'm pretty sure they work too.

With that being said, it's more than likely that the 4 of 9 that work are Wave 3, and the remaining 5 are the new Wave 4 games. iXtreme 1.6 won't play Wave 4 unless you use the Activate ISO disc.

Download and burn it, or wait a few weeks or so for the new iXtreme LT firmware to be released and update to it.

The games -

Assasins Creed II
GTA Liberty City Stories
Dragon Age Origins
Oblivion 2 ( Name may not be right, the European rpg game )
Call of Duty ( the new one )

I'm sorry to bother you guys, you're awesome for helping me. THANK YOU! But you speak in strange tongues I've never heard before, and Burmese internet connection's don't lend themselves well to browsing ( I may as well be on a dial-up connection ).

Can anyone link me to the Activate ISO disc? With a how-to as well. I'm assuming it'll be a small download, is that correct?

Thanks guys!

ARGH!!

So I found the thread here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-152/...ate_iso-818276/

BUT, the website jungleflasher is banned in Burma!!! How big is the file? If it's small enough, can somebody PLEASE upload it on rapidshare, or email it to me directly at zepdoor@gmail.com

Many thanks!

Sorry to keep updating, but an email would work much better.

I just found one on rapidshare, but it won';t let me download because all of the internet cafe's here use proxys. So, if anyone has time, please email me the activation iso. Thanks ( again ) !!!

I got this from this tutorial:

Yes, you will need a dual layer dvd burner.

Here's a site that sell the activate .iso disk. It'll cost you about 7 pounds including shipping.

I have no faith in a dvd making it through Burmese customs. Appreciate the suggestion though. I'm sure I can find a dual-layer dvd driver here, one my friends have probably got one.

I posted the link to the 1620 kb rar file, is that legit? Is it 1620 kb zipped, then 253 mb when extracted? That seems like too much.

I figure I'll hit up an internet cafe after work and try and download the iso activation. Then,. next step, see if anyone has a dual-layer burner. Next step- find a dual-layer dvd :P , from there it should be smooth-sailing.

How big of a file will the firmware be?

And once again, THANK YOU AL for putting up with my pestering questions. I really want to make this thing work.

The firmware is small but i don't think they'll let you use the computers in the cafe to let you flash the xbox 360 lol

Sorry about the double posts.

I honestly have no idea what's involved in flashing an x-box, the term is new to me today and I can't really browse the internet. Just re-loading this page is taking 10-15 minutes at a time. I'll read into it later when I hit up a proper internet connection.

I'm still curious about the link I posted though. I'm gonna try and dl that after work, I think it's my best bet short of flying to Bangkok :(

EDIT- You guys are golden! Got activate.rar, imgburn, now I just need to find a dual layer dvd burner. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Hopefully you never here from me again :P This stuff is way too complex for me.

Note that you need to burn the activate.iso entirely to the first layer of a dual layer disc! Use IMGBurn for example, the programm will ask you two questions before burning. Answer both with yes and it will burn the iso to the first layer (used 2,4x speed if possible).
When finished (after 30 minutes or so) put the disc into your xbox and wait for like 20 seconds. Do nothing, only take it out of the drive and insert a wave 4 game. Then you can play :-)
