ive successfully flashed my 360 lite on drive with some instructions from the internet, but ran into something saying it is recommended to spoof your drive, so my question what is spoofing, is it necessary, and downloads do i need to get, thanx

If your drive is working you did it right. You only spoof when replacing the entire drive with a new one. It basically tricks the 360 to think it's the ORIG drive by using it's keys.

But why would someone want to replace an entire drive, just asking to be sure what i did was correctly done
On the old liteon tutorials, especially with homemade probes, if you didn't do the probing correctly your key may not read properly. So they suggested to try the key on another drive spoofed as your liteon, then connect the drive to the 360 to ensure that the games read properly. This way when you flash the key to your original liteon drive you know it's the right one and you wont end up with a 360 that only plays DVDs
Spoofing is handy to know how to do in case your drive breaks or the laser dies and you need to replace it (though the laser dying is more of an issue with Samsung/Hitachi drives than Liteon and BenQs)
