Hi all,
Wondering if someone could help me here.
I've recently attempted to begin flashing my Xbox 360 (Liteon Model: DG-16D2S /FW Ver: 74850C). I was waiting for LT+ (as I have kinect and the new dash) which is of course now here so attempted this tonight.
I've been following Jungleflasher documentation and I'm having a problem. I'm using CK3 Probe kit with a SATA PCI card.
Firstly, Jungeflasher couldn't see my drive though detected the card etc. After an hour of trying to fix this, it was simply fixed by shutting CK3 off and on and opening closing (part closing) the drive.
Finally when I got it working I tried to use DVDKey32 within Jungleflasher.
I delayed it 20 seconds so I could make sure I got the probe lined up right.
Then the status box showed "Sending DVDKey request to I/O..."
This message was there for a good 10 minutes and nothing changed. The program then froze. I close it and reopened and was met with the same issues it had before finding my drive.
Each time I get Jungleflahser to see the drive now and hit DVDKey32 it keeps saying "No Drive Detected! DVDkey files extraction aborted!" Like it drops the detection of the drive immediately after pressing the button.
I can't get passed this error now.
If someone could help me here I'd appreciate it. I've tried cycling the power, having the disc tray open/closed/open part way etc. Nothing is helping.
Thanks
P.S. I've read and re-read all the relevant sections in the Jungle Flasher documentation. Regarding the freezing: I am aware of disabling the drivers through Windows which I have done.

You using xp win7?
I'm sure you've installed portio, etc. It can be a learning curve to get just right. My first Liteon took some time. I eventually went with Dos flash. Formatting a thumb trive with a tool called iprep.
You can google that, and find info on it as well. I think there's dosflash 16 and 32 bit. You boot to your thumb drive and bypass windows altogether.
What kind of sata interface card are you using? chipset?
When you connected the probe to the extraction point, did the proble light change color, or turn blue to signal a good connection?
Are you using the serial connection with the CK pro?

I appreciate the response Thosmos.
I am using Windows 7 (64bit). Latest Jungleflasher, LT+ and the latest dash from Xbox.
I've read and re-read Jungleflasher' documentation so I think I have everything required installed (portio included).
I bought a SATA PCI Adapter this is a card with a single SATA port that I'm connecting the drive to. VT6421A.
The probe did change colour, same combination Jungleflasher documentation gave (from orange to green when poked in to R707 when I click the switch on the probe)
I am connecting the drive to the SATA card, molex to CK and USB connection to CK.
As I can't get it to see the drive after initiating the DVDKey process, it just drops the detection, I paniced and thought I'd screwed the drive!
Its frustrating because I had it seeing the drive and what I thought was communicating with the drive until the program froze and now I can't get it to connect at all.

So, with the probe, were you able to extract the four files.... identity, dummy, serial, etc?
did you disable the SATA card, rename the driver in win/sys32, then re enable the card and get the red x? Like the tutorial?
Did you use F8 at boot up and select allow unsigned drivers to load in windows?
What version of jungleflasher are you using?
I didn't try any of this w/ win7 64. Tried w/ 32, but ended up mostly now using xp 32. But that doesn't mean that win7 64 doesn't work with JF. Just don't have any first hand stuff to relay.
You running JF as admin?

No I was not able to extract anything - This is what I am trying to do with Jungleflasher.
I had another few attempts since my last post, this time I deselected "VIA Ports Only" and selected "Include Non-IDE Ports" instead. Surprisingly, it detected my drive AND has allowed me to connect to it and repeat what I did last time, however, like last time, the program appears to have frozen again.
I've attached a screenshot of what I am currently seeing.

P.S.
Yes I did do the driver disable/re-enable

All of your above questions I have done aside from
"Did you use F8 at boot up and select allow unsigned drivers to load in windows?"
Instead I am running DSEO and having it run windows in TEST MODE and then used "Sign a system file" on portio64.sys

I've only had success using CK3 with serial connection. It worked, so I stopped trying w/ USB.
Did you remove any plugged USB devices -- external drive, etc...

I see the serial port on the CK device. Perhaps I'll try that. I'll grab a cheap usb stick from Maplin's too and maybe try your Dos Flash suggestion if that doesn't work. I did some reading on it per your recommendation. Will it allow me to obtain the key as well or is it just going to do the one part, of flashing?
No I didn't remove any USB devices, keyboard, external drive, mouse etc. run on USB. Is that something I should try?

Well, you could always remove any extra USB devices not in use. But you need KB and mouse. I think the real issue is when it sees the USB on com 3. Looking at your screen. But not sure. If you try the serial connection -- switch the swith on the CK to com (obviously) and you'll usually see it on com 1, if I remember it all!
Oh, and dosflash works, but you cannot extract with it. you'll need the dummy.bin anyway, using the method that you're trying now, with the probe. But something to consider once you get past this spot, and still have issues. Just remember to keep the extracted key, or everything goes out the window, once erased!
