Hey guys,
This is my first post on the forum so please spare me if I sound a bit stupid or redundant. Firstly, I do not use my 360 for online play of any kind and do not care whatsoever about getting banned (implying that patching a game from Wave 4 to Wave 3 is a perfectly good solution to me). Secondly, I have what I believe to be a Lite-on drive flashed with iXtreme 1.51, and currently do not have the means to update it to 1.61.
With the advent of Wave 4, my circumstances have become a bit problematic. I recently acquired Assassin's creed 2 and patched it down from Wave 4 to wave 3 using the Wave 4 to Wave 3 Patcher application (not abgx). Since the disk showed up on the dashboard (instead of just showing up as "Play DVD"), I figured it would work. I tried to launch the game and was greeted by an system update notice. I decided to update since I have no worries whatsoever about getting banned and such. The update apparently installs, reboots the system, and tries to launch the game again, but forgets that it ever updated....as many times as you install the update, the system will not launch the game and keeps trying to update. I burned a Wave 4 version of the game and it shows up as "Play DVD" so I know that the problem should have something to do with the patching.
Now, if anyone has experienced this problem before, please advise me on what to do about it. Lastly, I just want to know if patching the game down from Wave 4 to Wave 2 or 1 will solve the problem or I have to do something else.
Thank you very much for any advice.

I'm the same except that I'm using 1.5
Try removing the hard drive, it works for me but you cant save :(
I patched manually back to wave 2/3 & a different disk with 360wavepatcher with the same outcome.
So what's wrong with my hard drive ? (not banned, only used offline)
:/

Well I solved my problem.
All I needed to do is update the dashboard, for some reason your disk isn't updating properly so you should probably try what I just did;
Download this dashboard update (you might need to register) - http://digiex.net/xbox-360-content/2747-...s-download.html
extract the $systemupdate folder to the root of a memory stick or cd/dvd & then plug it into your 360 (you might need to restart your console)
If that doesnt work then im stumped mate, good luck.

this is the problem with patching wave on discs. the wave is usually the update you are patching out. so if you remove the update then it cant do its job and then you get stuck in that loop. you guys connect to update the dash but you also patched wave so that will get you banned very quick. you may not use live but the next time you screw with the waves and have to connect you may be banned and lose some functionality. its just better to flash your console in the longrun
If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.

true but 90% of ppl that patch their games are banned anyway, the other 10% are just plain dumb lol
