Recieved some Verbatim discs toady, thought this would solve my problem, it was my last attempt before doing a pot calibration.

The Verbatims didnt work - so, it was time to 'bite-the-bullet' and do the calibration.

Success! First calibration - all the back-ups work now.

I want to extend my thanks to all who responeded to my posts and all who helped.
