Suddenly modded 360 wont read backups

Just a hour ago or so, i put in a backup in my modded 360(has 1.6 iextreme i think) that i have used before and it didnt work with multiple tries i kept only seeing the "Play DVD" message that leads to the "To play this disc put it in a 360 console" message. Anyone have this problem? It seems to be not reading my other backups either. Help asap would be greatly appreciated.

You might be using low-quality discs which then it is killing your laser. What brand are they?

Well im pretty sure they are verbatims. And they have all worked before. I have been watching DVDs i have burned on Memorex DVDs. Do those hurt it?

Movie DVDs on cheap media does not really hurt the laser as much, but it can still damage it. Try pot tweaking the laser or cleaning it with rubbing alcohol.
