Hi all, this is my 1st post.
Getting a brand new 360 elite delivered in about 1 week.
was gonna get it flashed immediatley to play backups!
Read about all the m$ ban hammer stuff on this forum & thought someone might want to make a deal!
I've got no interest in ever playing online! just want a modded console for me & my kids to play on.
Would anyone (preferably in Manchester area) be interested in making an offer / deal for swapping my brand new elite, for their modded console (maybe even with some games!)
No timewasters please - It was only an idea

This belongs in the buy/sell section, not here.
Why don't you just find someone to flash it yourself? Seems like a better idea than swapping it with a complete stranger on a message board, where you won't have any idea if they (or you) will actually send it. Or just buy one of the many banned ones on E-bay.

Exactly.
A banned console has no hard drive install feature or Windows Media Center functionality. You'd be better off modding the Elite and keeping it offline, then you can keep those features and still play "backups", that's assuming the Elite you bought has a moddable drive. Also, if you do a swap you might get an older hardware revision that's more prone to the RROD or you might get one that's already been repaired.

Might be stupid - was just an idea
The xbox is a free gift that was bundled with my new mobile phone deal.
To get it flashed with ixtreme 1.6 would cost me £40 - £60.
If I could save / make money on the deal - it's worth it to me.
Obviousley, I won't swap for a 2 year old, battered console, that's just waiting to RROD. I'm not a total numptie.
I live in Salford, Manchester.

Christ, I would have done it but I live in Cardiff. Shame too because my banned console is in mint condition :(

I'm banned and my WMC is fine.

I have an elite on 1.61 plus about 10 more units sitting there
I haven't connected any of them to live just in case i do loose any functions of the console.

ohhh, maybe I am a total numptie then!
I was assuming that the ONLY feature that would be affected on a banned unit was xbox live, which is of no interest to me at all.
How useful are these other features? I have a WD HDTV for watching HD media.

To be honest if your using it just to play games you wouldn't really notice the loss in feature.

I would say that the install to hard drive feature is a must really as without it you would not be able to store games or any other kind of media. Although i believe some people on here are banned but still have these features!!
Best thing to do is if you have a modded console is just to stay offline for now and keep all your feature intact
