My disc drive basically crapped out. so my question is, the PCB I have, can it go into any version of the LG GDR-3120L since it's the same model? I currently have the 79FL or do I need to replace the model specific version. Any information would be much obliged, if I was unclear I would be more than happy to clarify

You will need to spoof your drive to a different revision, details on how are in the Jungleflasher guide.
So even though I have the PCB in working condition for this hitachi drive from the original xbox, and if I replace the PCB(From the 79FL) into the new drive(Say a 79FK, or others), of a different revision, I have to spoof it?
