transfering saves to new hdd?

Hi.
I know there is a tutorial that explains all this, but i tried following it and just got a bunch of troubles.,
Short of what ive done by now.
I had a 20gb with my profile and saves and all that.
Then i tried to get partition 3 onto my (friends old) 120gb after formating it with the xbox.

But i ended up having a 120gb that only had 10gb free and no saves or profiles on it.,
And after getting the same results over and over again i gave up and just formated the 120gb and recovered my profile with xlive.

Now im really missing my Mass Effect saves. (any ME player knows it a b**** getting a lvl 60 player back up).

So how can i transfer those saves to my new hdd? Only the saves nothing else?

(and im of course asuming ill do this with xplorer360)

Could some one please give me a foolproof quick step by step on what to do?

I still have the 20gb with all the original profile and saves on it lying here. And know how to hook it up to the pc.

You don't even need to hook your hard drive to your computer. If you have a USB flash drive, you can connect it to one of your usb ports. You must then "configure" it under the Memory settings located under System Settings to allow the console to use the flash drive for storage.

After you have done this, install the hard drive with the game saves you want onto your console and transfer the files to your flash drive using the Memory settings on your console. Turn off console and install the hard drive you want to save the game saves to. Perform the transfer operation with the hard drive as the destination and the flash drive as the source.

It's really that simple. No need for connecting your hard drive to your computer or using a transfer cable.
